Dr Yahya Abdulmajid Ibrahim is a registrar in the department of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Head and Neck Surgery, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. He graduated from the University of Jos in 2015, after which he proceeded for housemanship at Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe and have worked in the same hospital as a Medical Officer in the Department of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery for more than three years before joining UMTH in September 2019, as a resident doctor in the same specialty.
He served as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Gombe State Chapter (2018- 2019), and presently the Financial Secretary, Association of Resident Doctors, UMTH (2020 to date).
His zeal and passion for academics was well known since his early days in the University because of his active participation in tutorials. His first research experience was in 2017, and that experience earned him membership of the Nigerian Surgical Research Society (NSRS) after presenting his first research work at one of their conferences in December 2017.
The evolution of the Research Collaboration Network (RCN) under the aegis of Research and Statistic Committee (RSC) of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has catapulted his research experience and the number of publications. He has been an active collaborator of the RCN since her inception and presently a member of the RSC, with 15 publications in both local and international journals. He considers RCN a platform to achieve his career goals as a researcher, academician and clinician.
His core research interest is in public health in general Otorhinolaryngology (ORL), Head and Neck Surgery, with a bias towards Paediatrics ORL, Head and Neck Surgery.
He is happily married and blessed with two kids.
